Born and brought up in South Carolina, she finished her college education from Clemson University, and then went on to get the master's degree in broadcast journalism from University of Miami. Kelly's dream was to join an ACC Digital Network channel from the time when she was a kid. The TV work she was offered to her was glamorous and interesting.
